Scarface

The lion’s head ‘Scarface’ started life as the stump of a cherry tree that was given to me by a friend who had the tree chopped down in his front garden.

It took approximately 150 hours to complete - grabbing hours here and there in the evenings and the weekends over a period of approximately 2 years.

Scarface had its first outing when it was exhibited at Fulham Palace, London, in August 2013, and later the same year at Guildford Cathedral as part of a Surrey Sculpture Society exhibition. It was bought during the Guildford Cathedral exhibition and became part of the Peter Ingram collection of modern and contemporary British art. It was graciously loaned out as the centrepiece for the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe exhibition at Wisley Gardens before delivery to The Lightbox Gallery in Woking where it remains.
